Based in Cariacica, Brazil, as Junior BID Engineer and reporting to BID Coordinator, you will participate daily on the activities of tendering supporting the Bid Team in technical and administrative demands in order to improve your professional skills and contribute with our team. The Proposal Engineer gives his contribution mainly at the tender stage of Umbilical Cable Systems projects and marginally during project construction. During the tender stage, this professional, will provide support to other areas and functions, being directly in touch with clients and suppliers. At tender stage the main activities are the following: Knowledge of the cable market in terms of Customers, Competitors and Subcontractors Careful examination of the tender documentation, in particular the technical specifications Examination, when present, of the survey data provided by the Customer Elaboration of a technical solution in accordance with above requisites Preparation and/or review of umbilical cables and ancillaries design analyses and calculations, technical drawings, procedures and reports;
Internal discussions within Engineering team and other Departments, as required, on the chosen solution Participation to clarifications meetings both internal and with Customer during tender preparation Site visits, if necessary, to understand logistic aspects of the job, check feasibility of solutions, contacting potential subcontractors, e.g.
for civil works, etc. Preparation and issuing of technical specifications (RFQ) for the potential subcontractors Examination of the received proposals from potential subcontractors from different points of views: technical, economical and for scheduling/timing of the work Discussions with Subcontractors with the aim of clarifying offers and aligning them to Prysmian/Customer requirements Fine-tuning of the final solution in agreement/cooperation with all the relevant Departments such as: Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Logistic, HSE, Quality, Project Management. Preparation of budgetary estimates for umbilical systems;
Elaboration of the System Umbilical detailed costs, packing and schedule Preparation of the Technical Description of the Work and the documentation requested by the Customer with regard to Umbilical System Participation, when required, to negotiations and clarification meetings with the Customer after the presentation of the proposal. Revisions, as necessary, of the tender package as a result of negotiations, change of Customer requests, etc. Compliance with internal rules and procedures during the entire process At contractual stage the main activities are the following: Participation to internal Kick Of Meeting(s) Transmittal, to the project team and Departments involved in the project execution phase, of the relevant information, such as: Costs Qualifications and assumptions Technical documentation Plan Of Work or Scope of Work Other relevant information Participation to internal clarification meetings with the relevant departments Technical Assistance when required, but especially during the first period between the Contract Signature and the execution phase, to the relevant Departments Participation, when required but especially during the first period between the Contract Signature and the execution phase, to meetings with the Customer and/or Subcontractors WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Bachelors or Masters in Engineering At least 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry and 5 with SURF, mainly working with Umbilical Systems;
Proven experience with design, manufacturing and testing of either thermoplastic or steel tube umbilical systems, preferably for deep water and dynamic applications;
Strong knowledge on the ISO 13628-5 / API 17E and its supporting standards such as ASME, ASTM, IEC and DNVGL;
Knowledge of SURF systems architecture and requirements;
Experience on qualification/verification testing (procedure elaboration, acceptance criteria definition, test witnessing and results consolidation / correlation to theoretical models) and FATs witnessing;
Capable to issue, interpret, understand and review engineering design reports, procedures and the umbilical system related drawings (ancillaries, schematics, field layout, cross sections);
Perform Risk Assessment during the tender stage;
Availability to short but possibly frequent trips, domestic and abroad Flexibility and Dynamism;
Good relationship approach good communication skills;
Team working capability;
Problem solving and target oriented pragmatic to solve engineering problems;
Capability to set and to handle pragmatically the priorities;
Capacity to understand and conceptualizes complexity into concise frameworks;
Flexibility and capability to manage changes during the work;
Wish to quickly learn and get involved;
Knowledge and familiarity with of all basic and common software like Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and in the use of the Web;
Advanced in English, written and spoken;
